A Cat's Care

There are many things people should know about cats that they don't know. You have come to the right place is you just got a cat or if you just want to know a little more.
First of all, you should know the correct way to pick up your furry feline. NEVER pick up a cat by the scruff of their neck. Only their mother's know how to do it the correct way. A good way to hold your cat is like a baby or sitting up. Hold it in a position that the cat won't squirm.
Also, you should also know how to feed your pet properly. Don't over feed your cat. This will just end up in an over-weight cat. You should feed your cat three times a day, as you feed yourself. About one cup is all your cat needs at each meal. If you have more than one cat, they should each have their own dishes.
We all know most cats don't like water but they do take baths themselves by licking themselves. If your cat looks dull, smells, or just needs cleaned, you can by moist wipes for your cats to keep them clean, shiny, and fresh-smelling.
Finally, your cat does need a warm place. If you have an outside cat, you should consider having a warm garage or shed for them. The cold weather causes aching joints for your cat. You should also have some kind of bed for them even if it is leaves!
Keeping your cat cared for is just the half of it! When your cat is outside, they are bound to find some kind of prey. You never know when that prey might be bad. Your cat should see the vet regularly to get vaccines and to get treated with medicine for any sickness. Whether your cat has a cold or is sick from prey, the vet is always a great idea.
Have you ever worried that your cat sleeps too long? Don't worry about it. Cats sleep for about 12-18 hours a day! So it is very important that your cat gets plenty of rest to give it energy for anything it needs to do. Especially if your cat hunts outside a lot, it should get plenty of rest.
If you have an outside cat, you probably experienced him disappearing for a day or maybe even a week. It is normal if your cat does this, especially if you live in a rural area or if you live near woods or explorable ground. Even if you don't, your cat may still run away. It is possible that your cat may go away for up to five months! If your cat goes away for a year or more, I would guess he isn't coming back.
The reason why they do this could be many. Usually, they will go out for long hunting trips or maybe short ones. Your cat may come back skinny, but all it needs is food.
Cats of all ages may do this, but it is mostly the older cats, just about a year old or older. If you are very attached to your cat, if most likely won't run away but it may. Some cats will do this very often, others may not. It all just depends on your cat and its environment.
A cats' exercise is very important. You should usually give your indoor cat walks outside or give him toys to play with. Whether you are playing with him or he is playing by himself, he needs time to be active so he isn't overweight. Remember, a big cat is not a healthy cat.
Once again, feeding your cat should be one of the main things you do to take care of her properly. If you just don't know what brand to get, you've come to the right place. I suggest lams  because it is one brand of cat food recommended by vets. Also Science diet is a great choice. To keep your cat growing healthy through every age of her life, it is important to feed your cat according to its age. If you have a kitten, you should feed it food made for kittens. If you have a fully grown cat, you should give her adult cat food. This method will keep your cat healthier and living longer.
